2d. Decr. 1715.

not read over to him before he Signed it He answered it was
read to him but the Clerke had put that and Severall other things
in it which he did not Say particularly That he did not Say he
Saw Harris the Beadle when the Boys went out nor that
he saw Male put a Form before the Gate nor that the Beadles
could have hundred the rest of the Boys from going out

The Court haveing Sat Long and night comeing on
agreed to adjourn the Further Examination of this matter
till next Wednesday morning but the Artsmasters of this
Hospital were ordered to attend the Court imediately & being
all present Except Young (who was out of Town) & Bell
(whose wife attended for him he being Sick) Mr. president
told them That for want of their due care in keeping their
Boys at home on Holy day nights (as they had been often
charged by the Comittee of this House and by Messages
from him) great Complaints had been made of Riots &
disorders Comitted by their Apprentices and had reach'd
even his Majestys Ears and occasioned Reflections upon
the Governours from persons without doors who knew not
the care they had taken and that the fault lay in the Artmar.
which might in it's Consequences be prejudicial to the Charity
of this house and therefore Strictly Charged them that for
the Future they Should keep their apprentices at work on
every holy day and Lot e'm play the morrow after in Lien
of it and to give an account from time to time to the
Trear or Comittee of this house of the names of Such
Boys as went out of their Masters Houses on any Such
holy days and the artsmars. being withdrawnTheir apprentices
were called in & Reprimanded by Mr president and Charged to
keep to work and not Stirr out of their Masters Houses on any holy-
day for which they should play the next day after and they all promise
to obey the Order of the Court therein.
