Upon reading a Report from the Comee of this house under the
hands of John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Mr. Christopher Bateman< no role > John Shelton< no role >
Mr Samuel Keble< no role > John Cottle< no role > Esqr . Col George Meggott< no role > Sr Samuel Clarke< no role >
and Mr Braham Smyth< no role > dated the Ninth day of December instant as
followeth Vizt

This Comee in pursuance of an Order of Court of the 7th day
of Octr last have taken into consideracon the several Petitioner of
the persons hereunder named Setting forth that they served their
apprenticeships in this hospital and have been made free of this
City by Order of this Court and are Sett up for themselves in their
respective Trades And praying some part of Mr. Lock's Gift the
better to enable them to carry on their Trades Vizt

And this Comee upon inquiry being Satisfied that they are
Severally Sett up in their respective Trades and have the
Characters of Sober industrious men Are of Opinion to give
each of them ten pounds out of Mr. Locks gift which nevertheless
is submitted to the Judgment of the CourtThis Court doth
Confirme the same and Order that the Clerke do pay to each
of the Petrs Ten pounds out of Mr. Locks gift to be allowed
him in his next account

Upon reading the humble Petition of Humphry Cole< no role > of Wapping
Butcher setting forth that he hath for sometime used for a Slaughter
house a peice of ground on the north side of Wapping Street (being part
of the ground formerly Leased by the Governours of this Hospitals to
William Wood< no role > ) and hath had use of a passage from the North part of the sd
ground through the Carpenters Yard into Cinnamon Lane and that he is
willing to build a dwelling house on part of the said ground and to pay the
yearly Rent of four poundsAnd praying a Lease of the said ground
and passage for fifty one years under such Covenants as are usual
to the other Tenants of this hospital It is Ordered that the
consideracon of the said Petition be referred to the Comittee of this
house who are desired to Report to this Court what they think proper
to be done therein
