Also upon reading unto this Court a Report from the Comee of
this house dated the 14th. day of Decr. last under the hands of
Coll Cass Esqr Trear Coll Windham Mr Geo: Ludlam< no role > Mr Law
Parker
< no role > & Mr Depty . John Taylor< no role > which Report is in these words
Vizt Mrs Martha Phillipps attended this Comee and
Psuant to her Petition preferred to the Court on the sixth day
of May 1709 prayed a new Lease of the Bull and house
adjoyning to it in old Bethlem at the same rent she now pays Etc and
agreed to lay out in Repaires of the sd houses Sixty five pounds
particularly to take downe the Two roomes in the back Yard
& Turne an Arch with brick work under the sd roomes & back
Yard & to rebald ye sd Two roomes and pave ye Yard againe
with Purbeck Stone and take a Lease for Eighteen yeares
And this Comee haveing formerly viewed the prmisses and taken
ye same into Consideracon psuant to an Order made the sd
Sixth day of May 1709. are of Opinion That a Lease be
made to her upon the Termes she now proposes with usual
Covenants as are in her former Lease And a new Covenant
to be added to this effect That incase the Governors shall be
inclined to build the prmisses into another forme then such
new Lease to be made as above shall be surrendred & become
void and She the said Martha Phillipps< no role > her Executors Adnr
or assignes to have an allowance as by Arbitrators to be
umtually chosen shall be awarded as is appointed in the Lease
she lately had from the Governors. of Bethlem Hospital
of a parcell of ground and Several houses near to the
premisses in Old Bethlem And it is Order'd That this
opinion be reported to the next Court This Court
haveing duely weighed and Considered the sd Report doth
Confirme same and Mr Huntsman being prsent in Court
conseated thereto for and on behalfe of ye sd Mrs. Martha
Phillipps
