The Information of Joseph Brown< no role >
of Holsdon Green Farmer taken before
me this 16th. day of March 1763

Who being on Oath says that on Saturday last about 6 o Clock
in the Evening a she was Riding to his own home at Holsdon
Green aforesaid, a Person now present who calls himself
Paul Lewis< no role > This name instance is in set 3638. , Rode up to this Informant and presented a Pistol to
him End bid him stop, says that the said Paul Lewis< no role > was at
this time disquized with a Mask, says that on his refusal to
stop said Paul Lewis< no role > Fired his Pistol at him the Powder of
which came in his face, says with this his Horse was
frightned and them him off, says that on Cooking back he
saw the said Paul Lewis< no role > in Custody of Francis Pope< no role > now
present, says he immediately went to the said Pope's assistance
and secured said Lewis, says said Lewis their begged for Merey
and said he wou'd Surrender himself if they wou'd use him
like a Man, says that at this time said Lewis was upon the
Ground and this Informt. upon him, say she immediately let
the said Lewis get up, who then appeared very Peacible
but says that they had not Walked many Yards together
before said Lewis, presented another Pistol to this
Informt. and said, new Damn you, Ill Shoot you Dead
and then attempted to fire the said Pistol which fortunately
flashed in the Pan [..] and did not go off says he then
secured him [..] Tied his hands, and took away the said
Pistol which was Loaded for that he immediately took a Ball and
Powder out of it, says that on Searching him farther he [..]
found on him Ten Balls, another Pistol, a Powder Horn with
Powder in it and a pair of Bullet Moulds
