Middlesex to wit


The Information of John Brown< no role > , Joseph Pope< no role > , William
Podd and Jane< no role > the Wife of Thomas Banks< no role > taken
before me this 6th. day of Novemr. 1783

Who being on Oath say and first the said John Brown< no role > says
that Sixty eight Yards of Black Lace now produced is the Property
of this Informant and was stolen in this Informant's Shop in
Ludgate Street London since the beginning of October last and
this Informant further that One Card of the Lace now produced
was brought to this Informant to be Valued by the said William
Podet & which was stopped by the said Joseph Pope< no role > , and that the
other Card of Lace now produced he found some in the possession of the
said Jane Banks< no role > and some in the Possession of the said Williams
Podd. And the said Joseph Pope< no role > says that the Card of
Lace now produced in the Card of Luce which he received from
the said William Podd< no role > And the said Jane Banks< no role > says that
the Lace which she sold to the said William Podd< no role > at this
Informants Shop, on or about this Day three Weeks amounting to
about 27 Yards (as she believes) she Bought the same Day of
a Person now present who calls herself Mary Marrell for about
3s/11d pr Yard and further says that either the same Day or
near that time (as she verily believes)thatthe said Mary Murrell< no role > This name instance is in set 1385. This set is in the group(s): GarrowsClients .
sold to this Informants about 40 Yards of other Black Lace at either
Eighteen or twenty pence Pr Yards a part of which was found
in this Informants possession And the said William Podd< no role >
says that the Lace which he Brought of the said Jane Banks< no role >
amounting to 27½ Yards which he Bought of the said John
Brown to be valued That he gave the said Jane Banks< no role > at
the Rate of four shillings pr. Yard for the said Lace That on
the same Day he Bought twenty Yards of warrer Lace now produced
of the said Jane Banks< no role > at twenty pence Pd. Yard and that about
three or four Days afterwards be Bought six Yards of the
