to wit Jane Swaine< no role > aged 23 years
upon her Oath saith that on the 24th: day of
November last past she Intermarried with
Joseph Pester< no role > at the Parish of Christ Church in the
County of Surry who at that time she thought
was Single but since her said Marriage she this
Deponent has learnt he had been legally
married to a former wife named Ann Pester< no role >
(and who is now actually living) at the Parish
Church of Saint Ann's Aldersgate London on
the 23d. December 1792 . That she this Examinant
lived as a hired yearly Servant with Mr. Carey the
Optician in the Strand in the Parish of Saint
Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex for Ten
Years and upwards at the yearly wages of Eight
Guineas that she hath quitted said Service about
Ten Months since which time she hath done no
Act to gain a subsequent settlement And further
this Examinant upon her Oath saith That that on
the Third day of April now last past she this
Examinant was delivered of a female Bastard
Child in the London Lying in Hospital which hath
since been Christened by the Name of Jemima< no role >
That the said Joseph Pester< no role > who now lodges at
Mr. Pye's in Saint Anns Lane Westmr . is the
father thereof he having had carnal knowledge
of this Examinants Body and begotten the same
thereon and that the said Joseph Pester and no
other Person did beget the same and that he is
the only real and true father thereof
