The Examinacon of Martha Want< no role > the Wife of Robt. Want< no role >
Lodging in the Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the Liberty of Westmr .
in the County of Middx Who upon her Oath saith yt. her Husband hath
Absconded from her & hath been abroad & beyond the Seas for these 7
Years last past or more And this Examint. hath not since her sd. Husband
hath so absconded from her as aforesd. ever seen or heard from him
neither doth she know whether he is liveing or Dead And this Examint.
further upon her Voluntary Oath saith that on the 28th. Day of June
last she was delivered of a Female Bastard Child at one Mrs. Shaws
in Witch Street in the sd. Parish of St. Clemt. Danes wch hath since
been Baptized by ye. Name of Mary< no role > And further saith that one Wm.
Noxe< no role > did begett the sd. Child on her Body she this Examint. being hired
by one Mr. Brackley in Castle Yard in the Parish of St. Andrew
Holbourn Londn . to look after his House in the Sumer time And
he the sd. Wm. Noxe at ye. same time being Servt . to the sd. Mr.
Brackley there became acquainted with her & had Carnall Knowledge
of her Body in bed at ye. sd. House Sevll. times in the Months of
Augst. & Septr. in the Year 1738 at one of wch times he gott her
with Child of the sd. Female Bastard Child wch she was delivered
of as aforesaid And yt. he the sd. Wm. Noxe< no role > & no other Person is the
true & reall Father thereof & yt. she is now Poor & not able
to maintaine the same
