Elizth. Grist < no role > Aged about 29 Years on her Oath says
she never was married Rented House or paid Taxes Says she
lived a hired Yearly Servant with Mr. Barnett at the
Cheshire Cheese in Milford Lane in the Parish of St. Clement
Danes in the County of Middx upwards of Two Years at
the Yearly Wages of Six Pounds Ten Shillings hath quitted
her said service upwards of 2 Years ago since whch. time she
hath gained no other Settlemt. And further on her Oath
Says that on the 15th. of Octr. last she was delived of a Male
Bastard Child in the Workhouse belonging to the said
Parish which hath since been baptized by the Name of
James< no role > & is now Chargeable to the sd. Parish And further
that one James Arnold< no role > a Waiter at the Ax & Gate in
Downing Street of Westmr . but what is become of him
she does not know had Carnal Knowledge of her Body at
her said late Masters House in Downing Street afsd. Some
time in the month of January last but the Particular Day
she does not now remember And that the sd. Jas. Arnold < no role >
& no other Person did beget the same & that he is the real &
true Father thereof.
