she never was married Rented House paid Taxes or
ever lived a hired yearly Servant for One Year says [..]
Father Rented & lived in a House in Crown Court
Temple Bar for sevl. years at the Yearly Rent of Ten
Pounds hath quitted the said House upwards of 18 years
ago since which time she hath gained no other Settlmt.
And further on Voluntary Oath says on the 13th. day of
March 1778 she was delivered of a Male Bastard Child
in the House of Blanchard Wilkins< no role > in Houghton Street
Clare Markett which was so on afterwards Baptized
by the Name of William< no role > And that she is now pregnant
with Child or Children which is or are likely to be born
a Bastard or Bastards and to become Chargeable to the
sd. Parish of St. Clement Danes she being poor & unable
maintain the same when born And further says that
one Wm. Cook< no role > a Chimney Sweeper is the father of the
above named Bastard Child as also the Child she is nor
pregnant off and that the sd. Wm. Cook< no role > & no other
person did beget the same & that he is the real & true
father thereof.
