(to wit) Mary Burgess< no role > This name instance is in set 892. Aged 25 years or
thereabouts Upon her Oath saith That
she [..] was Married to her present Husband
Edward Burgess< no role > at Christ Church in the County
of Surry on the 27th Day of August 1787 . by
[..] Barnes That previous thereto and while
he was single not having any Child or Children
her said Husband lived as an hired Yearly Clerk or
Servant with Messrs. Sandom & Co. in America
Square [..] John Street Minories for two Years
or thereabouts at the [..] Wages of Fifty pounds
for the first, and Sixty pounds for the second Year,
that during the last three or four Months of such
Service he lodged and constantly slept in the House
of Mr Beridge at Newington Cause way in the
Parish of St. Mary Newington in the County of Surry
That he left the Service of Messrs. Sandom & Co. [..]
about four or five years ago and [..] since hath not
done any Act or thing whatsoever to acquire or whereby
he might be entitled unto any other legal Settlement
That she hath one Child now living with her
born of her Body (in legal Matrimony) and be gotten
by her said Husband Named Edward< no role > Aged 20.
One Year Eight Months or thereabouts, And that her
said Husband is now with his own Friends,
Dangerously Ill and that she is Poor and unable
to provide for herself and said Child;
