Elizabeth Cave< no role > Widow who Keeps the Granby Head in Charles
Street Covent Garden or her Oath saith that the Deceased has
Lodged in her House about five Months, Says that Wednesday
last about 2 o Clock the Deceased came to the Bar and asked
for a Pen and Ink, Deponents Sister gave if him, Deceased
then went up Hairs with the Pen and Ink, he had a Steel of
Paper in his Hand when he came to the Bar and he appeared to
be quite Lober Deponents Lewant went yesterday Morning to
make the Deceased Bed as usual but finding the Door locked
and having about half after Nine o Clock she told this Deponent
of it who went up, and a lodger with her, and the Door was
broke open, and the Key was in the inside the Woman lodger

that went up with her came out of the Room and gave
her two Letters one discated to the Deponent and the other
to Deceased Consin Mr Billings both in the Deceased's hand
writing Deponent says that she has several times thought
he looked as if he was out of his Mind,as he booked so very
wild in his Eyes, and has told him she thoughts so, but
he has not made any Answer, Says the Deceased has often
talked to her about his wish to Mary her, but she has
answered him that she did not intend to Mary for the
had enough to he to take care of her Family of hour Children
and desired him not to think of any such thing and Dept
saith she never gave the Deceased my encourage ment
respecting Marriage
