Which was in about Twenty Minutes and went into
the Deced's Bedchamber to deliver his Message when he
found the Deced Sitting backwards in the Chair, Says
that he delivered his Message but the Deced not
speaking, this Dept. was Fightened, and ran to call his
Fellow Servant, saying that his Master was got up
and sat in the Chair, and desired his fellow Servant
to come down and go to him, upon which his fellows
Servant Valentine Wareham< no role > went into Deced's Room
and Dept. stood upon the Landing place on the outside
of the Door, where he heard said Wareham immediatley
say that his Master was dead, Says that Mr. Nevison
came in about twenty Minutes, and Dept. went up
with him into Deced's Room when he saw the Deced
sitting in the Chair, who appeared to be dead, and
that he saw a great deal of Blood upon the floor
behind the Chair, Says that he has no reason to
think that any Person had been in Deced's room
from the time that he went to call Mr. Nevison until
he returned, Says that the Deced asked this Dept.
three or four days ago, if he had seen Mr. Piper and
Robson in Town Two or three times, and on
Dept. Answering that he had not, Deced said that he
was sure they were in Town and that he had seen them
but Dept. knowing that he had not been out of the House
for above a week, thought that the Deced was at
times Delirious

Noah Thomas< no role > of Old Burlington Steet Dr. of Physick
on his Oath saith That on Sunday May 5th. this Dept.
was sent for to Mr. Shafto the Deced, and went to him
that Evening and found him exceedingly dejected
sighing, and complaining of Confusion Giddiness and
exquisite pain in his Head, Says that upon feeling
Deced's Pulse and enquiring into other Circumstances Dept.

Dept. found that he had some degree of Fever, and on
Dept, asking how long he had been subject to that Confusion
& Giddiness, and how long he had had the pain, Deced said
that he had more or less had the Giddiness & Confusion
and his Memory decaying for Six weeks or two months
and that his pain in his Head has been very Acute
and hardly to be been for three days, Says that his
further Enquiring Deced told him that he had been
afflicted with the Gent and had several fits formerly
that about two months ago he found a pain in his feet
and has Bathed them with paid Verjuice, Says that the
Deced was than absent for a short spoce of time but
soon recovered himself and [..] anweredwith Dept. sensibly
Says that he Ordered a Blister which was put upon Deced
Back [..] to be kept open together with proper Medicines Says that he
saw Deced on Monday & Tuesday, that on Wednesday
he found Deced Cooler, but still complained of Giddiness
& Confusion, but that his pain was somewhat abold, That
on Thursday the Giddiness was worse, andDeced
Attributed it to the Firing of the Guns on Wednesday
Says that the Deced appeared some thing better on
Friday Saturday and Yesterday Morning from
having had some Sleep andStrengtheningMedicines
Says that on the Thursday Morning the Deced lames [..]
his less of Memory and Giddiness, Saying that he did [..]
Know this Dept. for eight or ten Minutes after he had
been in the Room, Says that last Night about Nine
o'Clock Deced sent for this Dept. again, and on his going
to Deced, was informed that he had been struck
that afternoon with a pain, darting through his Head
Says that he ordered Plaisters to be put to the Soles
of Deced's feet which he heard were put on last
night, And that Dept. believes that the Deced was
not always Master of his Sentiments, and that
Deced told him that he did not know sometimes
what he was about for two hours.
