Charles Nevison< no role > of Pall Mall Apothecary in
Partnership with Mr. Carlisle, on his Oath saith, that
on Friday the third day of this Instant May this Dept
was fetched to Mr. Shafto the Deced who camplained
of Confusion and Giddiness in his Head ,Says that
the Deced was Feverish, Says that on Saturday Night
he beled the Deced, and took from him a good Quantity
of Blood, that he was sent for the next Morning and
found that the Deced's Arm had bled a geal deal more in
Bed, which Deced said he did not know of but that he
had been very restless the former part of the Night, that
the Deced complained of the Giddiness and confusion
in his Head and said that he did not know what he was doing
at times, and this he repeated several times to
Dept, and said that hethoughthad been as positive
that he had soon two of his Servants out of the
Countrey in this House the day before, as that he then
saw him, but was then satisfied that they were not
there, Says that he attended the Deced everyday
since and Yesterday Evening Deced complained that
he had had [..] [..] Yesterday through his Head which
almost distracted him, Says that by Dr. Thomas's
Direction Dept. put a Plaister to the Sole of each of
Deced's Feet about Twelve o' Clock last Night, and went
home in about half an hour after leaving the Deced
undressed and going to Bed as Dept. thought, Says that
a little after Six o' Clock this Morning he was fetched
to Deced, That in less than a Quarter of an hour Dept
went and found the Deced sitting in his Chair in his
Bedchamber leaning backwards against the back of
the Chair and a great Quantity of Blood upon the floor
behind the Chair, and a leader Bullet in the Blood
That the Deced held a Pistol in his Right Hand, that he
had a Wound on the Right side of his Head above his
Ear and the Flesh Shaftered, and a smaller Wound upon
the leftside of his Head over the left Ear. That the Deced
was dead. And this Dept. says that he believes the
Deced was at times Disordered in his Senses;

on his Oath saith, that he put the Deced into Bed last
Night a little before One o Clock, when he looked wild
and appeared to be in great pain, Says that he soon
after went into his own Bed in the Garret and was
called up this Morning by George Barke< no role > his fellow Servt.
who said that his Master was in his Chair, and
appeared to be frightened, Says that he went down
into Deced's Room and saw him sitting in a Chair
with a Pistol in his Right Hand and a great deal of
Blood upon the Floor, Says that the Deced was dead
but did not then see any Wound. Says that he want
out of the Room and acquainted his fellow Servants
therewith.
