matters were settled between th City and the
Hospitals but such answer not being
Satisfactory to the said Mr. Herne and his
Client Mr. Box being desirous to procure
such lease and being informed by the said
Mr. Herne that the Common Council were
ready and willing to grant such Lease
of the Premises to Mrs. Box the said Mr.
Box or the said Mr. Herne in her behalf
did apply for and actually obtain an order
of the said Court of Common Council
bearing date the 30th. day of May 1778 for
granting a lease to the said Sarah Box< no role > of
such part of the said Ground and Premises
as was so agreed to be demised by the said
Wyatt and Gray to the said John Horrobin< no role >
as hereinbefore mentioned for the remainder
of the Term so agreed to be granted by the
Governors of the same Hospital And that
in pursuance of such order an Indenture of
Lease bearing date the 13th. day of April
last was granted by the order of the said
Court of Common Council by the name and
description of the Mayor Commonally
and Citizens of the City of London Governors
of the House of the Poor commonly called
Saint Bartholomew's Hospital near West
smithfield London of the foundation of
King Henry the 8th. to the said Sarah Box
of the aforesaid part of the said Ground
and premisses which are therein mentioned to be part
