Committee and also to Mr. Sherson another Tenant
of the said Hospital to induce such Tenants to
resort to that Committee for Leases pursuant
to such Contracts intimating that the Lessees
might by application to the Common council
obtian Leases for 99 Years instead of 61 years
agreed to be granted by the Hospitals and a Letter
was sent to the Treasurer of Bridewell and
Bethlem Hospitals wrote by Mr. Boxley Assist
to the Town Clerk of the City of London or the
Assistant Comptroller of the said City who has
lately prepared the Hospital leases pursuant
to the orders of the said Common Council
directed to Messrs. Eade and Wilton other
Tenants of Bridewell Hospital in the words
and figures following (that is to say) "Sir,
I am to acquaint you that an Hospital
Committee is summoned to meet on Wednesday
next at Guildhall at 5 o Clock in the Afternoon
to take into consideration the referrence fram
the Court of common Council concering your
Lease of Premises from Bridewell Hospital
and you are particulary desired to attend the
Committee at that time and bring with you any
Agreement or other Articles concerning the same
as you may be possessed of I am Sir your hble
Servr. E. Boxley. Town Clerks office Guildhall
16th. Octr. 1779".

That at a Court of Common Council
holden on the 29th. day of October last It was
resolved unanimously that the person acting
as Treasurer of Christ's Hospital should say
before the first Common Council held after the
