the purchase of the same at the sum of Three Thousand Six hundred Fifty One
pounds and Ordered That the said Two Legacies should be applyed as part of
the said purchase mony And that the Remainder should be paid out of the
said Hospital's Cash of which Agreement Notice being given to the Executors
and Trustees of the said Mr Colston they approved of the said purchase And the
said Legacy of Five hundred Pounds was thereupon paid to Mr. Treasurer the
said other Legacie having been paid to him some time before And the Title
of the said Estate having been perused and approved by Council The said
Estate was Conveyed to this Governors of this Hospital by Indenture of Bargain
and Sale Inrolled in the Court of Chancery bearing Date the Nineth day of
December 1723. And the Rents and Profits of the said Estate are to belong to this
Hospital from Michaelmas then last past.

We have Joyned with the London Workhouse in the Charge of having a
Survey taken and a Plan made of the Estate at Ellestree in Cambridge Shire The
Revertion whereof is given to this Hospital and the said Workhouse in equal
Shares by Dr. Williams Deceased after the Death of Mrs.who as we
are informed is lately Dead And We have Agreed to Joine with the said Workhouse in
Letting a Lease of the said Estate on the best Termes that can be reasonably had for the
same.

Grant to Jabez Collier< no role >


We have Agreed with Jabez Collier< no role > our Tennant of the Demesnes of the Mannor of
Alvethley in Essex In Consideration of a Fine of Fifteen hundred Pounds whereof
Thirteen hundred is paid down and the other Two hundred pounds is to be Allowed him
towards the Charges he has been at in Laying a New Shine a Little before the end of
his old Lease and the Charges of Repairing and amending the Marsh Walls just
before and since the End of his said Lease That he shall have a New Lease Granted
him for One and Twenty Years from Michaelmas 1724. of the said Demesnes and
also of the Market House in Alvethley and the Liberty of Hunting Fishing and
Fowling at the Old Rent of One hundred Pounds per Annum Tax Free He is
to pay the said Old Rent of One hundred Pounds per Ann from the End of the Old
Lease being Michas 1724. and to performe all the Covenants in the Old Lease
to that time And he Remits all Demands for any Allowances in respect of
his Charges about making or laying the said new sluice and Repairing the
said Marsh Walls and all other Charges relating to the said Estate to the time
of the said Agreement The like Covenants are to be contained in the new Lease
as are in the Old Except those which relate to the Building a New House and
the Planting of Trees and an Orchard.

Upon a View taken of our Houses in Wapping and the Wharfes thereunto
belonging We found the Wharfes of Eight of them which were made with
Timber and plank and were out of Lease to be much Decayed And Judging
it to be for service of the Hospital to have the said Wharfes New Built
with Brick work rather than to repaire the Old Woodon Wharfes The said Eight
Wharfes have been accordingly by our Order New Built with Brick Work

Grant to Wm. Ashton< no role >


We have Agreed with Mr. Ashton to Grant him a Lease of one of the said
Houses in Wapping now in his Possession (being one of the Two Houses lately
Held by the Lady Cass) for One and Twenty Years from Michas 1723. At the
Yearly Rent of Sixteen pounds Tax Free payable Quarterly He is to put the
said House into good Repaire and to keep the same at his own Charge during
the Terme.

We have likewise Agreed with Margaret Rogers< no role > to Grant her a Lease
of another of the said Houses in Wapping now in her possession (being the
other of the said Two Houses lately Held by the said Lady Cass) for one and
