That Mr. Treasurer hath since acquainted and That
being Advised by Councell learned in the Law That in regard the Maior
Comonalty and Citizens of London are by the Grant of the 7th. of King Edward
the 6th: made perpetuall Governours of this Hospitall with those of Christ Bridewell
and are Incorporated as such and are Grantees of the Revenues thereof, And no
Reserve therein made of the Right of Visitacon to the Cravne nor any particular
Visitor Assignred, And for that the poor [..] are no part of the Corporacon this is
rather only a Nominall than a Reall Hospitall, and for that there is a full
power of Choosing and Appointing Officers Servants and Sub Governors
Lodged in the said Maior Coialty and Citizens by Vertue of that Charter under
which they have ever since Acted; The Right Of Visitacon is by Law vested in the
said Maior Comonalty and Citizens and the power of placeing and displaceing
Officers is under them in the Sub Governors of the said respective Hospitalls
The Rt. Wordhippll: The president Represented this Matter to the Rt. Honble:
the Lord Maior and the Court of Aldermen who Agreed upon a peticon to her
Majesty in Councill humbly to sett forth the Right of the Governours and to
pray that the said Order of the 23th: of March night be discharged; Which
peticon was presented to her Majesty in Councill the 17th: of Aprill last And
thereupon her Majesty was pleased to Referr the Consideracon of that peticon
and of the peticon of the said Doctor and Surgeon to Mr. Attorney and Mr. Lo [..]
Generall who were [..] to Report their Opinion thereinto her Majesty And Mr.
Attorney and Mr: Sollicitor Generall having heard the Matter and Reported
their Opinion to her Majesty the first of this Instant May her Majesty was
thereupon pleased to Discharge the said Order of the 23th: of March and to
dismisse the Peticon of the said Doctor and Surgeon.

That Mr. Treasurer having laid Coppyes of the said
peticons and Ordered before us Wee have cause them to be hereunto annexed
and recomend them as propper to be Entred in the Reportory of the proceeding
of his Court.

Wee have Admitted Dorothy Smith< no role > to be One of the Sisters
of this House and Recomend her to be continued therein during the pleasure
of this Court.

And whereas by an Order of the 22th: of August
1694 : No Sister or Assistant is to be Admitted who should be above 40: yeares
of Age Wee are of Opinion that the same should be Inlarged to persons not
Exceeding Fifty yeares of Age at the time of their First Admission into the Service
of this House.

Timber felled
at Orpington


Wee have sold Twenty Oakes lately felled in our Woods
at Orpington to Mr. Munn of Eltham for Twenty Five pounds.

Remitance of Arrears
to Briscoe &Dowse.


In Consideracon of the Poverty of Thomas Briscoe< no role > and Thomas
Dowse
< no role > Two of our Tennants of Houses in St: Thomas parish Wee have remitted
to the said Briscoe an Arrears of £31:07s due at Lady day last and Accepted
a Surrender of his Lease, and have Remitted to the said Dowse £12:04s part
of £18:06s: then due for Rewt he paying downe the Remaining £6:02s
