Grand Committee
Tuesday 4th: Octobr: 1743 .

The Minutes of the last Grand Committee
held the 13th July were read & confirmed

Mr Treasurer acquainted the Committee
that Mr Pearce recommended Mr Samuel Leake< no role >
one of his Pupils as a fit Person to have a Certi:
ficate which was agreed to accordingly

Agreed with Thomas Wheeler< no role > to Grant him
a Lease of the House in St. Thomas's Parish
being the furthermost of the three Front Houses
now in building (standing next to the House in
Mary Galtons possesion) for 7 years from Lady
day next at £24 P Ann Rent the Lease to contain
usual Covenants except the Tenants paying the
Land Tax; The Hospital to make the Alterations
& Additions mention'd in the proposals now deliver'd
in by the said Thomas Wheeler< no role >

Gave Two Shillings to the Poors Box

Mr Joseph Pace< no role > requesting that the Lease
agreed to be Granted to him should be made to his
son Mr John Pace< no role > the same was agreed to accordingly

Order'd that is be referr'd to Mr Treasurer
to recover or compound for the Arrears of Rent
due from the Representative of William Gardner< no role >
deced for the several Houses in the Old Baily
lately held by him of this Hospital & to get the
Possession of the sd: Houses & accept to Surrender
of the Lease in such manner as he shall think
fit.
