Report of the Sub Comee
for viewing Mr. Steere's
House in the Old Bailey


Mr. Walburge reported from the Comittee
for viewing Mr. Steere's house in the Old Bailey wth.
regard to his complaint of his being obliged to lay
out above £120..- in the repairs thereof over & above
the £180..- he agreed to lay out by reason of Defects
that could not be discover'd; That the sd. Comee
had view'd the said House & consider'd the said
Complaint and are of Opinion that he deserv'd to
be consider'd in that respect.

Opinion thereon


The said matter being consider'd It is the
Opinion of this Committee that at a proper Oppor-
tunity some Satisfaction should be made the said
Mr. Steere.

In regard Mr. Steere could not enter
upon his house till near Chxmas last altho' he took
the same from Michas It is agreed that his Term
& Rent shall commence from Christmas.

Grant to Mr. Steere

Agreed with the said Mr. Steere to
grant him a Lease for 51 years from Chrmas
next of the two Houses over against the two
Pumps in the Broadway in St. Thomas's
Parish at £..- P ann clear Rent he to pull
down the same & to build Two Substantial
Brick houses upon the same Ground within
the two first years of the said Term

Gave to the Poor's box 10s..6d
