Mr. Steere the Surveyor who agreed to take a
Lease of the house in the Old Bailey late held
byJohnson laid before the Committee an
Account of the repairs done at that house amounting
to a much larger Sum than what he was by his
Contract to lay out & prayed to have an allowance
in respect of such repairs.

Mr. Thos. Huck< no role > 's Mr. French Mr. Hollister
& Mr. Walburge or any two of them are appointed
a Committee & desired to view the said house
& to report their opinion of the said Repairs

The Steward inform'd the Committee that
Mrs. Galton Widow of Mr. Galton deceased who
held the Vaults under the Church, prays the
favour of putting up a small Monument for
her said husband in the Church against the Wall.

Resolved
That such liberty be given to the said
Mrs. Galton she giving five Guineas for the use
of the poor of the Hospital, & Mr. Steere the Surveyor
is directed to see that no damage be done to the
Church Wall by such Monument.

Mr. Treasurer acquainted the Committee
that he is inform'd that the Soil from the Ship Inn
sokes into the Wash house belonging to the Hospitalr's
house whereby the Wall is greatly prejudiced &
the family much offended.

Order'd
That the Clerk do write to the Owners of
the said Inn to build such a wall as will effectually
prevent such Offence or they will be said for a
Nusance.
