the Michaelmas rents, the Names of the Tenants & the Times to which
they have then Paid. This Notification in now become necessary as
the Auditors have ordered a procure rental to be kept of ate the Hospl
Estates, in which the Rents are to be entered, as they respectively
are paid.

Sir
Having been from horne some weeks, Idle not receive your letter
of the 10th Wks tell this day. Mr Beeves well acquaint you that he
has balanced the Colliery Account agreeable to your Request & with
prevented the mode which he consideres the most clear for keep
the same unconfirmly with he method of [..] ery the Concerns
of the Hospital. Being Persuaded that we oughts to wod complex
Undertakings, & as much as possible any They lead to Specula
-tion, I am more & more desirous of having the Colliery tell to
a responsible Tenants: a very large Sum of Money has been [..]
in the Sough Etc. Save must endeavour to get it redeemed by a
Curamfaer nett. If you keep clear of bad debts & collect
the Arrears due it will leave a very handsome profit. The
poor Collages in every part of the Kingdom having been
deslised & borne down to a degree the maspeteable, I can only
on the Behalf of the Hospital request you will exercise your
Cushorely with mercy & Tenderness to those poor Tenants you
spech of, of Course take Care to Collect then rents as a more
favourable opportunity

Sir Your leaving less the three last Colliery Returns open, the
Treasurer having referred it to me to state whis balance you had
in hand on the 1st. of Aust. (to which the last comes) I by leave to say
that in the Accot. endery the 30th May you have (2 think) improperly charged
yourself with £35.17.7 for outstandg Arrears in the March
Account, where as if you will turn to the Prociding Accot. endg the 2d.
Mary, you will three send there Arrears charged which should not
therefore be repeated. This then being rectified the Balance is
Your Hand on the 30 May, I call £21.3.0¾. on the 27. June
£50.1.0¾ & on the 1s. Augt £124.12.1½. To make up the last
you must charge yourself well £41.17.5 for past of the Order
in Mr. Jeffries paid in June 1800 & which has [..] never been applied
to the Colliery Concern & therefore belongs to your person at Account
Having never been accustomed to an acct. of this Sort I am a little
puzzled to accommodate it to the Hospital books without making
numerous Entries which are not agreeable to the Accounts of the
accounting if the concern remain much longer on hand, I could
wish that besides the Monthly Returns, you would be as good as to
