The Humble Petition and Appeal of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Saint John of Wapping
in the County
of Middlesex
.
Sheweth
That by an Order of Removal under the
Hands and Seals of W. Blackmore and Jno. Robinson< no role >
Esquires two of his Majestys Justices of the peace
acting
in and for the said County of Middlesex
bearing date
the ninth day of December 1797. Susannah Hocknell< no role >
Widow and her five children namely Richard Clee
Hocknell< no role >
aged seven years who had gained no settlement,
in his own right Samuel Clee Hocknell< no role >
aged six years
Joseph Hocknell< no role >
aged five years Mary ann< no role >
aged
fifteen months and Rebecca Kirby< no role >
aged four months
or thereabouts were conveyed from and out of the Parish
of Saint George
in the said County of Middlesex
to the
said Parish of Saint John of Wapping
as the place of their
lawful Settlement.
That your Petitioners conceive themselves aggrieved
by the said Order and do appeal against the same.
Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray
that a day be appointed in this present
Session to hear and determine the matter
of the said Appeal and that all Parties
concerned may then attend.
And your Petitioners shall ever pray to -
