To the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of St.James, at Clerkenwell , in the County of
Middlesex ; and to the Church-wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of Saint John in the Boro' of Southwark & County of Surry
and to each and every of them.

UPON the Complaint of the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of St. James, Clerkenwell , aforesaid, in the said County of
Middlesex , unto us whole Names are hereunto fet, and Seals affixed, being two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said county of Middlesex ,
and one of us of the Quorum, that
Mary Glazbrooke< no role > the wife of Thomas
Glazbrooke
< no role > sawyer , and their two instant and Children, namely William < no role >
aged four year and upward and Mary < no role > of us Six Months
then abouts are
come to inhabit in the said Parish of
St. James, in Clerkenwell , not having gained a legal Settlement there, and that
the said
Mary glazbrooke and both the said Children
are
now chargeable to the said Parish of St. James, in Clerkenwell . We the said
Justices, upon due Proof made thereof upon Oath, as otherwise, and likewise
upon due Confideration had of the Premises, do adjudge the same to be same to be true;
and we do likewise adjudge, that the lawful Settlement of the said Mary
Glazbrooke and of both the said Children is in the said
Parish of St. John in the Borough of Southwark in the saidCounty of
Surry aforesaid We fo therefore require you, the said Church-
wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Said Parish of St. James , at Clerken-
well, or some or one of you, to convey the said Mary Glazbrooke & both the said Children
from and out of your said Parish of ST. James , at Clerkenwell , to the said Parish
of Saint john and then to deliver to
the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some or one of them,
together with this our Order, or a true Copy there, at thesame Time shewing
to them the Original; and we do also hereby require you, the said Church-
wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint John
to receive and provide for themaccording to Law. Given under
our Hands and Seals, the 23rd Day of June in the
Year Of our Lord, 1789.
