To the Worshipful his Majestys Justices of the Peace for
the County of Middlesex in their General Quarter Session of
the Peace for the said County Assembled

The Humble Petitioner of James Banks< no role >

Sheweth


That your Petitioner was on the Sixth day of December last
convicted before William Hyde< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace for the said County in the Penalty of Twenty Pounds for Uttering
sending and selling one Pair of Leather Gloves with Stamp or Mark
of less Denomination than by the Act is directed

That your Petitioner doing in nowise guilty of the said
Offence and conceiving himself aggrieved by such Conviction was
advised to appeal against the same and entered into a Recognizance
with two Sufficient Surities to prosecute and abide by such Appeal

That your Petitioner was ready to have proceeded in such
his Appeal at this present Session according to the Rules and
Practice of the Court but by reason that such Conviction was not
returned to the Clerk of the Peace until Wednesday last your
Petitioner was unable so to do

Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that he
may now be at liberty to lodge his Appeal against
such Conviction and that the same may stand
Adjourned until the next Quarter Session for the
said County and that a day in the said Session
may be appointed for the hearing and determining
thereof and that the Recognizance entered into
by your Petitioner and his Surities to prosecute
and abide by such Appeal may be respited
until the said Session.

And your Petitioner shall ever pray Etc
