William Clare< no role > Saith he hath Lodged at Mr Rawlings's
for Many Months pastThat last Saturday Evening
about Ten o ClockInformant was Drinking in the
Kitchen at Mr. Rawlines And Two or three Men
Opened the Door and Asked if they were Peaceable
MenThat they appeared afterwards to be Sr.
Jno. Fieldings< no role > MenThat upon Informant
and his Company Answering they were Peaceable
the Men bid then Shut the Door and keep
themselves QuietThat imediately afterwards
Informant heard a Clashing of Swords or Hangers
upon the Stairs-And upon that Informant heard
a Voice Say Gentleman Surrender Yourselves
Prisoners and Well use Ye as Gentlemen for
We are Come to Apprehend, some of Ye
Upon that an Huzza was given which sounded
from up Stairs and imediately Informant heard
the Report of a PistolThen there was a
Voice Said Soldiers Advance" And then
Informant heard Two or three More Reports of a
Pistol or something of that which likewise
Appeared to Come from above Stairs
That in be less than five Minutes afterwards
Informant heard the Soldiers Fire from the Street
That before there was any Firing by the Soldiers
there were Nine of them Drawn up at the bottem of
the Stairs in a Kind of Military Form And One of
