Informations of Witnesses severally Taken and Acknowledged
On the behalf of his Majesty the fourth day of October 1769
At the House of Barnard Dew< no role > known by the Sign of the
Kings Arms opposite Shoreditch Church in the Parish of
Saint Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex before
Thomas Phillips< no role > One of the Coroners for the said County
touching the death of Thomas Cartwright< no role > then and there lying
Dead as follow (to wit)

William Rawling< no role > Saith That he keeps the Dolphin in Cock Land
That he went from Home about Nine or Ten o. Clock last
Saturday And returned about Eight in the Evening
When he Came Home his Wife. shewd him a Card to Appear
as that Evening at Six before Sr. John Fielding< no role > to give
Evidence touching FelonyThat there were some People
in his Own Pair of Stairs Forwards which Room had One Window
in Turville Street and Two in Cock LaneThat he doth
not know the Number nor who they wereThat about
Nine Informant Carried them up a Gallen of Beer
That there is a Door at the Head of the Stairs at which
an Hole was made on one side in the Wall inWhich thereOrder to put
wasa BarPutto Secure the Door And One of the
Persons Opened that Door and took the Beer
That there was no Other Light than a Candle in a
Lanthorn At the Bottom of the Stairs
That was the Second Night they had been there
That Informant Understood they were Cutters after they
had been there the first timeThat when Informant
Came Home that Saturday Evening Informant told the
Man who took the Beer that he had a Summons to
Appear before Sr. Jno. Fielding< no role > beforeat Six which he could
not Attend And Begd that the Room might be Cleardt
