maketh Oath That he this Deponent did on the fourth
day of July Instant Serve Mr. Davies Solicitor
for the prosecution in this
Cause with the Notice of Motion hereunto annexed, by delivering a [..]
Copy of Such Notice to the said Mr. Davies his Wife
at his Chambers
in Clement Inn And this Deponent Saith That he did on the Second
and third days of this Instant July offer to pay to the said Mr. Davies for the
use of the Prosecution the Sum of five Guineas of this Deponents
proper moneys If he or the Prosecutrix would Consent to discharge
the Defendant in Order that he may be Enabled to acquire a Livelihood
for himself and his Family, which the said Mr. Davies refused to accept
Altho the Prosecutrix referred this Deponent to the said Mr. Davies
and told Deponent she would accept of any Sum which the said
Mr. Davies should approve And this Deponent further Saith that
he verily believes That the said Defendant is not worth Ten Shillings
in the World nor is he of any ability whatsoever to raise or pay any
Sum of money whatsoever [..]
