Indictment but who was not examined before the
said Jury but waited so to be, then went out of the
said Yard with this Deponenttointo the Street
at the Outward Door of the Hall And the said
Simms in the presence of this Deponent [..]
enquired of a person there what time he thought
the Trial would come on the next day who Informed
[..] Simms and this Deponent the Eleven
or twelve O'Clock would be time enough for this
Deponent to Attend this Honourable Court
And that it might not come on till this Day On which
thisDayDeponent went away And the next
day (Yesterday) a little before One Attended the
said Court when to his great surprise he found the said
Mary Lukup and Susannah Cobides were both Acquitted
And further Saith that had it not been for such
Information he received the Night before of his
Attending the Court the next day he certainly
would have Attended sooner As this Deponents as
well as his Masters intention was to have Prosecuted
them to the utmost they thinking them to be very bad
Girls and very proper Objects to be Punished.
And this Deponent is very sorry they so escaped.
