The King agt. Patrick Fox< no role > on the Prosecution of Ann< no role >
the Wife of James Stevens< no role > for an Assault Etc

Ann the Wife of James Stevens< no role > of Bambridge Street in the Parish
of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex the prosecutrix above
named Maketh oath that this Deponent's said Husband and this
Deponent lodged in the house of the said Patrick Fox< no role > in Stacey's Court in
Bambridge Street aforesaid about three Years ago and were conversan [..]
with the said Patrick Foxe's Family until about a fortnight before she [..]
Deponent was Assaulted beat and abused by the said Patrick Fox< no role > [..]
which this Prosecution was brought and during that time the said Patrick
Fox
< no role > kept two houses which he had well furnished with Beds and other
Household Furniture and let the same out to Lodgers all except what
he and his Wife and Family kept for their own uses and this Deponent
saith that the said Goods and Furniture are Worth at least eighty
pounds to the best of this Deponent Judgment and belief of all which
the said Patrick Fox< no role > was fully possessed as this Deponent verily
believes [..] when he so Assaulted and beat this Deponent And this
Deponent saith that when the said Patrick Fox< no role > came out of the prison
where he had been committed and Confined during some time or beating
and Wounding this Deponent and until this Deponent was through [..]
to be out of danger of her life by the wounds she received from him he
came with a Bagpiper under this Deponents Window and shouted
out saying here is the Fox and his hounds who dares oppose them and
then said he was very sorry that he had not given this Deponents more
meaning more beating) as this Deponent believes And this Deponent
saith that at or about the time when the said Patrick Foxe's Friends
gave out that he was pressed this Deponent saw him near Saint Giles's
Church in the County of Middlesex in January last during the timeof
the Court was Setting at the then Session at Hick's Hall and on or about
the eight day of March following this Deponent again saw him by the
seven dials near his Friend Mr Doyles house And this Deponent [..]
that she hath been lately informed and verily believes that some of the best
of the said Foxe's Goods stil [..] are is the said Mr Doyle's house or Custody
and that he had orders not to part with them until Margaret Fox< no role > the
Deft Patrick Foxe's Wife returned from Ireland which would be soon and
that she would then pay what the said Fox Owed and take another house
and furnish it with Money she should get from her Father who lived at
Castle Ray in the County of Ross Common in Ireland where the said
Margaret Fox< no role > and her two Children then were and stil remain as this
Deponent hath been informed and verily believes And this Deponent [..]
