On the Prosecution of
George Campbell< no role > for Forgery.

George Campbell< no role > the Prosecutor in this Cause Maketh Oath and
Saith That He has Used his best Endeavours ever since last Sessions
and gave all the directions is his power to Find out One George Sweatman< no role >
who is a Material Evidence in this Cause as this Deponent is Advised but
without Effort And this Deponent Saith That the said George Sweatman< no role >
is Secreted and kept out of the way by the means and Procurement of
the Said Defendant in regard this Deponent has made all the Enquires
in his Power both by himself and his Agents to Find him out but in
vain And Also in regard this Deponent is fully Convinced in his
Conscience that the said George Sweatman< no role > would not have Secreted
himself Unless it was by the immediate direction and by the
Procurement of the said Defendant And this Deponent lastly Saith
That He hath been Credibly Informed and beleives the same to be
true That the said Defendant Did from the time He was Bailed out
in October Sessions One thousand Seven hundred and Fifty three
Secrete himself in the House of One Mr. John Mc.Donnell< no role > of
Chelsea in the County of Middlesex from the said Month of October
till the latter End or beginning of January last past to prevent his
being Apprehended on the Indictment found against him for the above
Offence And this Deponent lastly Saith That He Hopes and verily
beleives that from the Informations he this Deponent has Very lately
received He shall be Able to Trace or Cause to be Traced out
where the Said George Sweatman< no role > is so as to be able to produce
him at the Tryall of this Cause next Sessions
