Sir
I have serv'd you long & faithfully according
to the best & utmost extent of my poor skill & ability
& sincerly intend to go on in the Managment of your
Affairs with the same zeal & Steddynes; but it shall
be upon this Condition; that you give me security
for a hundred pound for my past services this I
mention'd last Week to two of your particular
Friends & in Consequence thereof, I was in hopes some
notice woud have been taken of it, other than a
bare acknowledgement of Services, & declaration of
a purpose to make me a present: which oblidges me
to be more explicit, and to desire the Favour of a direct
answer. If you & your Friends shou'd did like this proposal
I shall gladly listen to any thing that you may Suggest
on that head as reasonable to be done, in the present case
but I expect an immediate Answer & am
Dr Sr

Yr most Huml Servant
