To the Worshipfull his Majestys Justices
of the Peace for the County of Middlesex at
their General Quarter Session of the Peace
now Assembled.

The Humble Petition of John Cousins< no role >

Sheweth


That on Easter Monday last Mr. John Townsend< no role > one of the
Present Constables of the Parish of St. Mary Islington gave Notice
to your Petitioner who is an Inhabitant of the said Parish within the
Preband Liberty thereof that he your Petitioner was designd. by
the said Townsend to be put [..] Nomination to succeed him
in that Office for the year next Ensueing

That your Petitioner is of the Age of Fifty Six
Years very Lame Week & Infirm and not Capable of Executing
the Office of Constable should he be there to Chosen being
Exe [..] ly think of [..]

Mr. Townsend was Requested by Several of the
Inhabitants to Nominate the said Mr. Con [..] who was at
that time a mear Stranger to him And had Mr. Townsend
at the time he did so Nominate him known of his Infirmitys
he had not have put him in Nomination

Your Petr. therefore most humbly prays your
Worships for the Reasons aforesd. that he may
be Excused form Serving the said Office.

And your Petr. shall ever pray Etc.
