The Information of John Wynne< no role > at
Mr. Staggers in Swallow Street
Joyner and Capenter, taken before
me this 16th augt. 1749.

Who being upon Oath says that he was assaulted between
one and two of the Clock this Morning in Stanhope Street
near Clare Markett by four persons one of which Knocked
him down, Says that as Soon as he gott up he walked along
the Street but was soon overtaken by a Man now present
who calls himself James Masterson< no role > who Struck him a
On the face, and told him he should not be hurt, at which
time the said James Masterson< no role > feloniously and forcibly took
from this Informt's person one Silver Watch the property
of this Informt. Says that the Moment he had Snatched the
watch away, he run away as fact as possible as upon which
this Informt. followed him, and soon Overtook him by the said
Masterson's falling down, and this Informt. upon him, Says that
he saw the said Masterson lay down the said Watch as he
was upon the Ground.

John Ilger< no role > being upon Oath says that upon hearing an Outery
of Stop theif he went to the place from whence the
Sound came, [..] ,and found the said John Wynne< no role > upon the
top of the said Matterson, Says that Mr. Wynne told this
Informt. that he had been Robbed and desired this Informt.
to take his watch up which the said Masterson had laid down
which he did accordingly. John Wynne< no role >
