The Information of Anne Cockley< no role > of St. Margaret
Westmr . Singlewoman taken Upon me Henry
Fielding
< no role > Esqr. one of his Majestys. Justice
of the peace for the Sd County this 2d of
September 1749

This Informant on her Oath Sayth that on the 11th of June last being
Sunday David Buck< no role > was with this Informant at her House
in Chapple Street in the sd Parish at ten in the Morning
the said David having lain all Night with this Informant
this Informant having lived with him as his Wife upward
of three years at which Hour of ten Wm. Macdonald< no role > came
to this Informant to ask for his Wife Handkerchief, and
about half an Hour afterwards Griffith Cheriton< no role > came
likewise to this Informant. That all four together went
to Mrs. Adamst. at the black Bull in Chapple Street aforesd
where they drank five Quarts of Beer Thence they all went
back to this Informant. House where they all Stayed till
four in the Afternoon where they drank 8 Quarts of
Beer. At four then went to Mr Lakes at the Kings
Head in James Street in the Pish of St. Margaret aforesaid
Where they drank five Quarts of old Hort 4d. P quart.
Here they Stayed till near Seven And there were three
Women besides this Informant in Company the Name of
one of these Women was Elizabeth Beach< no role > , the Christian
Names of the others were Betty and [..] Thence this
Informant went home to fetch her Hat and all the Men
went with her the other Women being left behind. Thence
the Men and this Informant Set not as they said after
a Chance, which this Informant declares Ahe did not understand
and the first House they Stopt at was at the Sign of
the Horse: Shoe in the Strand where they had one Pot of Beer
Thence they went to a Right Collar in Holbourn near
