The Information of Mr. Jacob
Boursot

Goldsmith taken before me this
10th. augt. 1749.

Who being upon Oath says that a person now present
who calls himself James Jewell< no role > came into his Shop this
Morning and Sold him a Gold Ring for which this Informt.
gave him Twelve Shillings and [..] three pence, Says
that thereupon the said James Jewell< no role > told this Informt.
that we have deall together we will deal [..] again for
a Small Ring to make a present to Girl on which this
Informt. Shewed him a Small Gold Ring, but it was too
Slight and too Small upon which he Reached over the
Counter and putt his hand into the Drawer and took up
another, and finding that too Small laid it Down again,
and took up another at the Same time, and said that
would not do, at which time he pretended to lay it down
but by Slight of hand Dropt a Brass Ring in it's Room
Upon which [..] this Informt. perceiving it, laid his finger
upon it telling him it was not the Ring he took up,
And this Informt. Further says that he is possitive sure
that the said James Jewell< no role > feloniously took up a Gold
Ring out of his Drawer and Dropt the Brass one in its
Stead for all the Rings that was in this Informt. Drawer
were Gold.
