Morice (the said William Morice< no role > then and long before being one of the
Justices of the said Lord the King Assigned to keep the peace of the said
Lord the King in the county of Middx and also to hear and determine
diverse felonys trespasses and other Misdeameanors committed in
the said County of Middx and having Sufficient Authority to adminis
=ter an Oath to the said Edward Bygrave< no role > in that behalf) did then in the
said parish of Kensington Voluntarily falsely & malitiouslyand
Corruptlyupon his Corporal Oath depose swear and in writing affirm
that a person then in Custody in his Majesties Goal of Newgate in the
County of Middlesex Middxwho went by the Name of William Franklyn< no role > and
by the Nickname of Rusty Dick (meaning the said William Frank
=land who was then in Custody in the said Goal) is did on or about the
20th Day of October which was in the year of our Lord 1736 Attack him (meaning him ye said
Edward Bygrave< no role > (who then personated the said John Spurce< no role > ) on the
Highway as he (meaning himself ye said Edward Bygrave< no role > then
personating the said John Spurce) was travelling between Islip and
