At the General Session of the peace of our Severeign Lord the King begun
and holden for the County of Middx at Hicks hall in St. John Street in
the County aforesaid on Monday the twenty fifth day of August in the
ninth yeare of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second king of
great Britain France and Ireland Defender of the Faith before the
Justices next under Named, and from the use continued by Several
Adjorunts. Untill this day (to witt) Thursday the twenty eighth day of
the same Month of August in the Yeare aforesaid, and on the lame
day holden by adjornment at Hicks hall aforesaid in and for the Said
County before Thomas Lane< no role > Richard Farwell< no role > Andrew Osborne< no role > , John
Poulson
< no role > Esqrs . & other their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King
assigned to keep the peace in the County aforesaid, and also to heare & determine
divers felonys trespasses & other Misdeeds committed in the Same County

Whereas Edmond Toulman< no role > exhibited his humble petition unto
this Court on Monday the twenty fifthday of August instant Setting [..] forth
That the petr. by Indenture bearing date the eight and twentyeth day
of October last was bound

Apprentice to one Charles Nicholas Seur Devall< no role > then of the parish of
St. George the Martyr in the County of Middx Goldsmith , And tthat the
petrs. Relations in consideration of the petrs. being learut and instructed
in the Said Act or Mistery of a Gold Smith, did pay unto the Said Charles
Nicholas Seur Devall the Sume of ten pounds, and contracted to find &
provide for the Petr. clothing of all Kinds during his Seven yeares Apprenticeships
And that about [..] Six Weeks agoe the Said Charles Nicholas Sour Devall
left his habitation, and hath Since left the Kingdom or Secrets himself
herein, And that the
petr. is left destitute not only of learning his trade, but also of those
Necessarys, which by the Said Indenture of apprentice Ship the Said Charles
Seur Devall covenanted to provide for him, And that the Said Charles Nicholas
Sour Devall hath Since his abssonding Sent the petr. his Indenture of
Apprenticeship but others will not take him apprentice till he Shall be dischareged
from his former Apprenticeship by this Court. And the Petr. therefore humbly
prayed this Court to Order the Petr. to be discharged from the Said Indenture of
Apprenticeship, and return of the Said Sume of ten pounds when the
