To the Right Worshipfull his Majestyes Justices
of Peace for the County of Middlesex in Quarter
Sessions assembled.

The humble Peticon of the Churchwardens & Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of Woolwich in the County of Kent

Sheweth


That by an Order Dated the 14th. of March 1733 under
the hands & Seals of Robert Sax < no role > & John Martin< no role > Esqr. tow
of his Majestyes Justices of the peace for the County of
Middlesex (One where of being of the Coram) directed to the
church wardens & Overseers of the Poor of the Hamlett of
poplar & Blackwall in the parish of Stepney in the said
County of Middlesex , Setting forth That Complaint had been made
to them That Henry Freeman< no role > & Elizabeth< no role > his Wife & their two
Children (to witt) Mary< no role > aged abt. three years & Henry Freeman< no role >
aged abt. One year, did lately come into the sd. Hamlett and
endeavoured to settle themselves there contrary to Law And
that it appeared to the sd. Justices & they did adjudge that
the sd. Henry Freeman< no role > & Eliz: his Wife & two Children were
likely to be come chargeable to the sd. Hamlett, & that it also
appeared to them upon Oath, & they adjudged that the said
Henry Freeman< no role > & Eliz: his wife & two Children were last legally
settled in the said parish of Woollwich And therefore they
required the sd. Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the
Hamlett of Poplar & Blackwall upon sight thereof to remove
the sd Hen: Freeman & his Wife & two Children to the sd. parish
of Woolwich & them there leave with the Church Wardens &
required to receive & provide for them according to Law.

That your Petrs doubt not to prove that the sd. Hen: Freeman< no role >
Eliz: his Wife had no legal Settlemt. in the sd. parish of
Woolwich , whereby they conceive themselves aggrieved
by the Judgmt. of the Said two Justices, & do humbly appeal
to your Worshps thereupon.

a day to hear them in themselves, & Order
the Churchwardens & Overseer of the Poor
of the Hamlett of Poplar & Black wall
