Assemble & meet together at such times & places as they shall think fitt and to
inspect the poors Rate now in queon and to Examine & consider whether
the said Rate is Equall legall & Just & reqularly made & confirmed or
whether the same is unequall illegall & unjust & in what particulars,
and alsoe it the said Rate was Irregularly made or confirmed by
reason of any falce misregresentacons, And if any of the Inhitants
of the said parish are unduely charged by the said Rate Then to
consider how & in what manner they ought to be releived, And it
the said Rate shall appeare to be unequall illegall & unjust Then
to ppose in what method A Just & equall New Rate may be made
upon the Inhabitants of the said parish for reliefe of their [..]
And if the perts. the said James Guscoyne< no role > Churchwarden and alsoe
the Overseers of the poor of the said parish shall assent thereto
Then to make such New Rate & to have the same confirmed by two
of his Maties Justices of the peace for this County dwelling in or
near the said parish (Quor unns) And if they shall
refuse to give such assent then to report in what method A
Just & Equall Rate may be made upon the Inhitants of the said
parish, unto this Court upon One of the Adjournmt. Dayes of
this present Sessions, And this Court doth require that the said
James Gascoyne< no role > & alsoe the Overseers of the poor of the said parish
doe attend & Pduce the poros Rate now in queon and such other
Books & Accompts as shall be necessary to be pduced before the said
Justices of the peace or any three of them (Quor unns) at such
times & places as they shall appoint, And in the mean time
forbear collecting of Money assessed by the said Rate and lett the
petrs. have A coppy of [..] the said poors Rate or such other
Books or Accompts as they shall have Occasion for at their charge
And in case the said Justices of the peace shall by the assent aforesaid
make such New Rate then the Rate now in queon shall be
vacated And such Inhabitants who have said any Moneys
thereupon shall be allowed the same as paid upon such new Rates
And to the Intent that A Sufficient Number of the said Justices
of the peace may meet together touching the Matters to them
referred as aforesaid It is hereby Ordered that due & timely
notice of the times & places of their meetings be given to all
the said Justices of the peace.
