for sometime to come without laying any new burden upon
the County as yet. The assessors of St. auns westminster
indeed who assess'd Seventeen pounds & upwards instead
of Seven pounds Charged upon their parish did acknowledge their
Sault & Consess that they did it knowingly to give an
oppertuinty to the Collection to raise a Sume of money for
the Support of himself & a numerous Family wch. must
other wise have been burthemsome to their parish and here
we cannot but remark (Tho' we doe no know by whose
direction to the assessors or to Serve what purposes this is
done) That the Messenger to the Board is & looks unon [..]
as his right to be appointed Collector of both parts of
Clement Danes The parish of St. Paul Covent Garden
& the Out ward Division of St. Martinsin the Feilds [..]
wch. by their Extent & number of Inhabitants are under
the prsent Managemt. most beneficiall to the Collectors
Severall parishes to prevent this oppression upon them had
ordered the Just Sume Charged upon them & no more to be
paid out of the land tax but this prcamtion appears also to
have been abused for some of them have been called upon
& paid their proportion for the yeare ending midsumer
1721 when no Trophy money was ordered to be assessed
