To the Church wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
parish of Chiswick in the County of Middx & to the Church-
-wardens of the Overseers of ye Poor of ye Parish of Ash-
ford in the County of Kent.

Where as Thomas Benjamin< no role > Labourer by virtue of a
Certificate under the hands and Seats of the Church-
-wardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Ashford
in the County of Kent Subscribed and allowed by two
Justices of the Peace hath been permitted to come and
reside in the Parish of Chiswick in ye County of Middx
about the space of fourteen years last past
for his better maintenance and Lively hood; But as the
Family of the sd Thomas Benjamin is encreased so as
ne is not able to maintain them without Releif where by
they are likely to become chargeable to ye sd parish of
Chiswick. These are there pre in his Majestye name to
command you the Church Wardens and Overseers of ye Poor
of & Parish of Criswick to Convey the said Thomas Benjamin
and Martha < no role > his wife and their three Children Viz Jacob < no role >
aged ten years & upwards Thomas < no role > aged about nine years
and Christian < no role > their daughter aged about two years to ye sd
parish of Ashford aforesd where they are by Certificate
aforesd owned and Acknowledge to be settled Inhabitants
and that you do deliver them to the Overseers of ye Poor
of the parish of Ashford a presd to gether with this
Precept given under our hands and Seals this
thirtieth day of May one thousand seven hundred and
