June 1795.

a Brick Building about Twenty feet Square to be erected behind his House at
Islington for the reception and Accommodation of the Vagrants in his Custody
at an Expence of more than £100. That the whole of the premises remained
unoccupied and could not be converted to any other purpose without very
considerable Expence and that many Persons who were desirous of
becoming Tenants had considered the said Building rather as an
Incumbrance than an advantage to the said Premises Your Committee
therefore are of Opinion That if the said Lydia Adams< no role > were to be Allowed
the Sum of Fifty Pounds it would nearly reimburse her the loss she is
likely to sustain in consequence of the said Building.

All Which the Committee Submit Etc.

Resolved that the said Report be Received and Confirmed
excepting only that part thereof which relates to the said Lydia Adams< no role > .
and that the Clerk of the Peace do issue the several Orders upon the
Treasurer of this County for payment of the several Sums therein mentioned
Amounting together to the Sum of £.

Resolved that the Recommendation of the Committee on
behalf of the said Lydia Adams< no role > be referred to the consideration of the
Court on the County day of the next Session.

By Adjournment same day.

Sir George William Prescott< no role > Bart. laid before the Court
the following Presentment Vizt.

"Middlesex Ss. We the Magistrates present at a Petty Session held at the
"Goat at Forty Hill Enfield on Monday the 22d. day of June 1795 Do
"Present that the Bridge called Maiden Bridge in the parish of Enfield aforesaid
"is now in such a ruinous state and so much out of repair as to be
"dangerous to Persons passing over the same in Carts Waggons and
"Carriages and ought to be repaired and amended by the Inhabitants of the
"County of Middlesex the same being in our opinion a County Bridge and We
"do desire the Clerk of the Peace for the said County Do draw up our
"Presentment at the next Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the said County
"and lay the same before the Justices there assembled and take their.
