suggested that if the Bridge could be totally rebuilt in a straight
direction according to a Plan produced it would be rendered safe
and commodious and also much more convenient for the purpose of
the Navigation provided it could be undertaken at the joint Expence
of the County and the Canal Company in such proportion as should
be thought proper.

It was Moved, That a Sub Committee be
appointed to meet a Committee of the Magistrates of the County of
Middlesex and Mr Jessop to confer on the aboveproposition, and to
endeavour to form a Plan on just and equitable terms for carrying [..]
so beneficial an Improvement into execution; And that Mr Clitherow
be desired to communicate this Resolution to the Magistrates at their
next County day: the 30th Instant and to report their Answer to
this Committee at their next Meeting.

Ordered that the said Sub Committee consist of the
following Persons with power for any three or more of them to
Act therein Vizt. Mr Clitherow, Mr Way, Mr Clowes, Mr Digby and
Mr Alderman Langston.

Whereupon, It was Moved, That a Committee be
appointed to meet the Canal Company Committee to confer with
them which being Seconded was Resolved accordingly.

Resolved that William Mainwaring< no role > Esqr . The Reverend
Dr Glasse, The Revd. Dr. Gabriel, Thomas Wood< no role > Junr ., John Pownall< no role >
William Bleamire< no role > , Rupert Clarke< no role > Henry Holland< no role > & John Robinson< no role >
Esquires or any five of them be such Committee.

Resolved that all Plans and Estimates and the other.
Papers relative to this subject be laid before the said committee
and that the said Committee do meet on Saturday the 8th. day of
November next at the Three Pidgeons at Brentford at 11 o Clock
precisely and that Mr Rogers the County Surveyor do attend the
said Committee.
