The Treasurer of the County having informed the
Court that Mr Leslie the High Constable for Westminster division in
this County was greatly in Arrear in his Payments of the Monies
received by him for the County Rate made in April Session last
Ordered that the Clerk of the Peace do write a Letter to Mr Leslie
to desire his Attendance on the Court here on Saturday next at Three
Clock in the Afternoon precisely to answer for his conduct in the Promises
By Adjournment same day
Two Letters from Samuel Bennett Secretary to the
Committee for carrying His Majestys Proclamation against Vice and
Immorality into effect which were laid before the Court at the last Session
and referred for consideration this day being now read as follows Vizt.
To the Clerk of the Peace
Sir,
"I am desired by the Committee of the Society for
"carrying His Majestys Proclamation against Vice and Immorality
"into effect, to inclose to you two Copies of a Letter; which the Society has
"thought proper to circulate among its Members, relative to the and
"mischievous practice of paying Workmens Wages at a Public House.
