and approbation by a Faithful diligent and constant attentions
and application to the Duties of the Office.

That Your Petitioners Father died in very modera [..]
circumstances and left a Widow Your Petitiioners Mother unprovided
for and if your Workship should be pleased to confer this Office on
your Petitioner it will enable him to afford his mother who now
lives with him some assistance which he would be gratified in
doing to the almost of his power and ability:

Your Petitioner will be enabled to produce very
respective Testimonies as to his Character and Integrity and
doubts not but he shall have it in his power to give your
Workships full satisfaction on these Heads.

Your Petitioner therefore most
humbly begs leave to sollicit the favour of
year suffrages on this occasion

And Your Petitioner as in duty bound shall
ever pray Etc.

To the Workshipful His Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex and City and Liberty of
Westminster

We the undersigned being Salesmen of the St James's Haymarket
do Certify. That Joseph Stocken< no role > , the present Book keeper of the sale
Market is profectly acquainted with the Business of the said
Market is steady, sober, and always attentive to his Duty and
has during the time he has executed the Office of Deputy to his
late father given general satisfaction; and we hope and wish he may
meet your approbation and be elected Book Keeper and continue to
execute the said Office. Dated this 23d. day of November 1782
