said Mr. Peter Stocken< no role > Mr. Joseph Stocken< no role > the Son and Deputy of the
said Mr. Peter Stocken< no role > had continued to Collect the said Tolls and
would continue so to do until a Collector should be chosen:

Ordered that Mr. Joseph Stocken< no role > be and he is hereby
empowered to collect the Tolls of the St. James's Haymarket [..]
Collector thereof the duty appointed

The Following Petition from Mr. Joseph Stocken< no role > being
presented and Read Vizt.

To the Worshipful William Mainwaring< no role > Esquire
Chairman and the Rest of His Majestys Justices of the peace for
County of Middlesex and also for the City and Liberty of Westmr.

The Petition of Joseph Stocken< no role >

West humbly Sheweth

That your Petitioner has ever since the Elector of
his late Father to the Office of Collector of the Tolls on Hay and
in St. James Haymarket executed that Office as deputy to his
said late Father and he hopes to he satisfaction of the Magistrates
who have attended the market and has also been so fortunate
to meet with the unanimous approbation of the several Salesman
who have favoured him with their Certificate thereof which [..]
leave to Session to this his Petition

That Your Petitioner at the time of His Father
Election which is near twelve months ago was in constant
employment as a Printer which he gave up in order that he [..]
be able to pay a proper attention to the Duties of the said Office.

Your Petitioner who is married and has [..]
prospect of an increasing Family and is a Housekeeper in the
parish of St. Martin in the fields begs leave humbly to offer.
himself to your Worships as a Candidate to succeed his father
in the said Office and Pledges himself that if he shall be hereby
as to be elected he will execute the office in person and always
make it the object of his utmost ambition and will [..]
best endeavours at all times to merit your Worships [..]
