That having taken into Consideration the pecuniary Emoluments
attending the office of Collector of the Tolls of the Haymarket and
read the Report of a former Committee relative thereto whereby it
appears that the advantages arising to Mr. Stephen Weaver< no role > the
Collector of the Tolls of the Haymarket amounts on an average
to £120 a Year the Committee were of Opinion that £120 P Annum
is much too large a Sum to be allowed to the Collector of the Tolls
for the trouble of his officeThe Committee thereupon Examined Mr
Weaver the present Collector as to what he would undertake the
office for:-who said that as he was obliged to pay £20 a Year to an
out Door Clerk £20. a Year for an office and £10. a Year for Books
Coals and Candles he could not think of under taking the matter
under £90 a Year which was only after the Rate of £40 for his own
Trouble But the Committee thinking this too much resolved that
£70 P Annum and no more to be allowed to the Collector forth a
Trouble and Expences of his office and Mr Weaver being acquainted
therewith he agreed to continue in the office under those Terms
provided his appointed was for 21 Years if he should so long live
and provided when he is not in the way his Deputy be allowed
to verify the accounts The Committee do recommend it therefore
to the Court to appoint Mr. Stephen Weaver< no role > Collector of the Tolls
of the Haymarket on the Terms he has agreed to accept the same
but that his appointment be for such time as the Court may
think proper The Committee have ordered the Collector to deliver
the Books of the Collection of the Tolls and all other papers relative
thereto to the Treasurer of the Haymarket and that the Collector do
also render an account of all the Money he receives by virtue of
his office and pay the balance quarterly to the Treasurer be sides
the annual account to be sworn to at the Easter Session pursuant
to the Act of Parliament in that Case and that the Treasurer
every Easter Session do deliver a True Account of such Receipts
and disbursements as shall have been made by him by
virtue of his appointments

and immediately it was moved that this Court do
approve of this part of the said Report and the same was
resolved accordingly

And afterwards it was moved and Seconded that
this Court do appoint Stephen Weaver< no role > Collector of the Tolls of
the Saint James's Haymarket till the County day of next Easter
Sessions and the same being agreed to Stephen Weaver< no role > is hereby
appointed Collector of the Tolls of the St. James's Haymarket
