under the Inspection and direction of the Committee and the [..]
advantages have arisen from it, The Public passage is nolong
obstructed the inhabitants are much less incommoded the [..]
more regular and less partial and room as made for 200 Carr [..]
at one time when on the former plan there were never known
more than 100 and what is still more advantageous both to
the Public and the County a greater Quantity of goods have [..]
thence brought to market In order however to carry this into
Execution they Committee were obliged to attend each market
day for near a Month to have two Constables with them wh [..]
they have ordered the Clerk to pay £1..16..6 each and also to
employ Mr. Richard Armstrong< no role > the Deputy Oyer of the [..]
of Session as inspector of the market to whom they have also
ordered Ten Geuineas so difficult was it to procure a conform
to these Regulations from the obstinate County Carters and those
employed to sell the Hay and Shaw: at last however awaken
to their own Convenience they have fallen into the method
and the Committee have discharged Mr. Armstrong and
of the Constables, But for the Continuance of those advantag [..]
the Committee recommend that certain Regulations for the
Government of the Market be forthwith formed painted in legible
Characters on a Board and fixed up in some Conspicuous part
the Haymarket That the Constable appointed by the Committee
be continued to see such Regulations properly complyed with
That a standing Committee, be appointed consisting of such [..]
Act as Commissioners of the Peace for this County living with
a Certain distance of the Haymarket that any three be a
Committee and that three or more of such Committee do [..]
Rotation visit the Haymarket on each Market day to regular
the Market and compel an actual observation of such Regular [..]
as may from time to time be formed

A motion was made and Seconded that the Cou [..]
agree with this part of the said Report and the same being
Carried in the affirmative It is ordered that so much of these
Report as last abovementioned be confirmed and the same
hereby ratified and Confirmed accordingly

The Committee further Report that having perused
Bill which had been laid before the House of Commons
Initituled a Bill for remedying some defects in the several [..]
passed for Paving Cleansing Lighting and Regulating [..]
Squares Streets Lanes and other places within the City and
Liberty
