and Stead of the said William Aldwin< no role > and Doth order that the said
Joseph Read< no role > on notice hereof Do appear at the next General Quarter
Session of the Peace to be holden for this County on Monday the
tenth day of January next by Twelve of the Clock at Noon to
take his Oath for the due execution of his said Office And that from
and after the said Joseph Read< no role > 's taking the said Oath the said
William Aldwin< no role > is to stand absolutely Discharged from his
said Office.

At this Court a Report from the Committee of His Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for this County appointed the 22d day of April last to
carry into immediate execution the effectual repair of New Prison Etc. and also
further appointed to take into consideration the Repairs and Alterations
necessary to be done to Hicks Hall was made and deliver'd and the same is as
follows (vizt)

Middlesex

To His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
in this General Session of the Peace to be holden on Thursday the 9th day
of December 1773 at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in and for the County
Assembled

The Report of the Committee of His Majesty's Justices
of the Peace for the said County appointed to take into Consideration the
Repairs and Alterations necessary to be done to Hicks Hall

That in Consequence of the Order of Session of the 21st October the
Committee having taken into consideration the present State of the Building
called Hicks Hall It appeared to them, as well from their own View as from
the Report of Mr Rogers the Surveyor, that the same is all in a very Decayed
Ruinous Condition except the Foundations which upon Inspection appeared
to be perfectly Sound and of Sufficient demensions both in depth and thickness
