1767.

Justices except from one Francis Buskin< no role > who hath failed to Execute
his contract for performance there of Now upon receiving the said
Mr. Mainwaring's Report (or Terms) It is Ordered that the said
Richard Jupp< no role > be Employed to do and perform the said Repairs
and other Works at the said two Bridges respectively under the
inspection and direction of the said Mr. Mainwaring agreeable to
his said proposal he entring into proper Contracts for that purpose
with four or five of his Majesty's said Justices to be approved of
by John Hawkins< no role > Esquire Chairman of the Sessions and giving
Security for performing thereof And it having been suggested
that the Workmen and others to be employed on behalf of the
Inhabitants of this County may possibly be used as Trespassers for
going on the Wharfs and Soil adjoining to the said Bridges to make
the Repairs there necessary It is there fore Ordered that the said
Mr. Mainwaring and the Workmen and others acting under his
direction in the performance of the said Business shall be
indemnified against any action or actions at Law which may
happen to be brought against him them or any of them for any
supposed Trespass or Trespasses in going upon the Lands Banks
or Wharfs adjoining to the said Bridges to perform the Work
necessary for doing and compleating the said Repairs there.

Upon the humble petition of John Randall< no role > Gentleman High
Constable of Kensington Division within the Hundred of Ossulton
in this County Settingforth that he hath served the said office from
Easter Session 1763 and now praying to be discharged from the same
This Court doth appoint William Lambert< no role > of Chelsea in the said
County and Division Carpenter to be High Constable of the said Division in
the place and Stead of the said John Randall< no role > And doth Order that
the said William Lambert< no role > do attend at the next General Session of the
Peace to be holden for this County and take his Oath for the due Execution
of his said Office or else that he attend one of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace for the said County residing in or near the said Division and take
his said oath before such Justice And from and after the time of his
taking his said Oath the above named petitioner is to stand absolutely
discharged from his said Office of High Constable there.
